Nanotechnology, nanoemulsions, cosmeceuticalsAbstract
With today's technological advancement and the desire for the perfect appearance, the search for technologies that can favor the quality and results obtained by cosmetic products in the aesthetics and beauty market has been growing more and more. Nanotechnology is an area of science responsible for the study and production of structured systems on nanometric scales. In their nano form, materials tend to change their properties and in this way, it is possible to create or improve certain products, including cosmetics, bringing together benefits such as release control, greater skin permeation, stability and targeting of molecules to the site of application. action. This work consists of an integrative review on nanotechnological innovations applied in cosmeceuticals, focusing on the potential use of nanoemulgels for products intended for the skin, their preparation methods, characterization, formulation challenges, uses, advantages and possible risks. A data survey was carried out in electronic databases, considering the criteria for inclusion, exclusion and selection of articles for discussion. The selected works report promising aspects about the topical use of nanoemulgels, but also highlight important issues that require greater attention, such as the need for regulation of the sector, expansion of safety, quality and efficacy studies.
